Design Service

We offer a full or partial design service and can design from a simple business cards to a full shop frontage, bespoke to your needs.

If you are trying to create something new and already have some design ideas but you can’t seem to put in on paper, or you are looking to refresh or rebrand your existing look, we can work with you to help finish off what you have started.

If you have all the elements, images, logo, text … basically everything you need but you don’t have the experience or technology to create a piece of artwork ready for printing, again we can help you with this too.

To begin all we need is a simple brief describing what you are looking for in a design and what the material is being used for. If it’s a business card it probably needs to include your logo and contact details, if it’s a flyer or poster it might contain an offer or proposition, if it’s a brochure it will most likely contain more details about you and your services or products. If you have ideas or have been inspired by something you have seen, take a picture and show us.

We charge £50 per hour for our design service. The time is very much dependent on the size and complexity of the work. We will use your brief to create an initial quote for the work and then we track the time we spend on your work, keeping you up to date with the progress.

We work closely with our clients from start to finish. We will create mock ups and email them to you as pdfs for feedback and make changes until we get it right.

Copy

Colour Copying

We offer a colour copying service.

We have standard sizes such as A4 and A3 but can print on any size up to an SRA3, either single-sided or double-sided. Our standard copier paper is 100gsm Colortech which is at the top end of paper quality. We also offer in 160gsm, 250gsm and 350gsm weights.

Foamex Boards

Foamex™ Foam PVC available in various thicknesses good for longer term use. It’s a fairly dense material with a smooth finish, available in three thicknesses 3mm foam PVC, 5mm Foam PVC and 10mm Foam PVC. Foam PVC boards are strong and can be drilled or cut to shape to create stunning signage.

Vinyl Graphics

A cut vinyl, is a vinyl sticker that is affixed to a wall or other smooth surface such as glass. These can be in full colour or a single colour and can be used internally or externally.

Roller Banners

A Roller Banner is a self-standing, retractable banner stand, with a printed graphic panel. Roller banners are rolled away into their own bases which makes transportation easy. These come in various widths: 800mm/1000mm/1500mm but the height remains at 2000mm.

Dibond® is an aluminum composite material. This is used for overhead and external shop signage as it is very strong and is resistant to warping over time.

Posters

Standard Poster printing sizes are A1. Although they range from A2 to A0.
Our paper weight is 190gsm Silk. They are printed using UV protective inks and can be laminated to make waterproof.

A canvas prints can be customised with personal photographs in various sizes and canvas materials which is then stretched onto a frame.

Plan Copying

Plan copying service for architectural drawings or engineering plans available in either black and white or colour. These are produced in various sizes and printed on 90gsm bond.

A boards

A-Board refers to the shape of the external pavement sign. They have a collapsible strut to allow for compact, flat storage. They come with a clear protective cover for the print on either side.

Correx Boards

Correx signs are printed straight on the board with UV, waterproof inks.

Correx is a brand name for fluted or corrugated polypropylene sheet. It’s a very lightweight material and is the cheapest form of external and internal rigid signage. It is light weight and the fluted construction mean it’s best used for short term promotional signage. The most popular use for correx signs is as estate agents boards, but it is also used for exhibition directional signage or building site signage.

Comb Binding

The comb method uses round plastic spines with a hole puncher.
Our combs are available in black and come with a clear front and card back.

Perforation

This refers to the perforation of paper or cardboard so it is easy to tear off a piece of paper or a section of a page for example invoice or quotation books have a perforation line so you can keep a copy in your book for reference and easily tear out a copy page to give to your customer.

Thermography

Thermography is a raised ink print process. When your item is printed and while the ink is still wet, resin is sprinkled on it and exposed to heat. The resin and ink fuse together, raising the lettering off the page giving a glossy look.

Wire Binding

The wire method uses double looped wire spines with hole puncher the makes square holes.
Our wires are available in black and white and come with a clear front and card back.

Spot UV

A Spot UV coating or “varnish” is applied to chosen spots (areas), of a printed material. This has the affect of highlighting and drawing attention to that part of the design, but it also provides the additional visual stimulus of having varied textures on a single printed surface. For instance you may have a matt laminated business card and spot UV so there is a sharp contrast on the design of the card which makes it more appealing.

Lamination

Lamination is the process of applying a thin layer of plastic to paper or card sheets to enhance the feel and protect the printed matter. Common types of laminate are gloss, matt and soft touch.

Scoring

Scoring paper is a way of preparing a sheet of paper so that it folds cleanly. Basically, a crease-line is pressed or embossed into the paper at the folding point. This allows for the paper to fold easily and without cracking.

Foil Blocking

Foil stamping is the application of a thin layer of metallic foil (often gold or silver) onto the paper’s surface. The foil film is positioned between the heated metal die and the material receiving the foil. The die presses the foil onto the material and the heat activates the adhesive. Under pressure, the foil fuses onto surface of the paper or card.

Saddle Stitch

In Saddle Stitching, multiple pages are bound together along the fold with 2 staples. Each spread is made up of four pages, so your brochure would need to be divisible by 4 pages ie: 8 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 pages.

Die cutting

Die cutting is used to make multiple, identical shapes. It works in a similar way to a biscuit cutter. A shaped blade called a die is used to cut the paper or card. These are usually bespokely made to the customers requirements.
